Mindfulness and Nature Connection

“Remembering our interdependence.”

When was the last time you were able to slow down and feel truly present and connected with a calm mind and relaxed body?

Through a combination of mindfulness, somatic based therapy (Hakomi) and nature connection we can relearn how to regulate our system and find balance in the now. Once our mind/body is able to relax and let down its “protective mode” we are open to a natural organicity of healing. In this often chaotic and fast paced world, we forgot how to slow down in order to remember our bodies innate wisdom. The co-regulation of a safe therapeutic relationship, combined with nature provides the container for deep healing and transformation.

Nature and Me

Through my experience and connection with nature, I have learned the most valuable lessons about myself and life. From an early age I have been drawn to the “wild” and “untamed” places still left on earth. Its become clear throughout my life that the more time I spend building “right” relationships with our natural world, the more confidence, acceptance, balance, love, and trust, I grow within myself. We humans are completely interdependent on nature not just for our survival but also in order to thrive. It is time we learned how to build new relationships with each other, the natural world and ourselves.

I feel very grateful to have grown up in Santa Barbara, CA. fostering amazing relationships with its many diverse places. Whether I was 3 years old searching for turtles at Alice Keck Park or 35 exploring our beautiful backcountry, nature has always been a place for healing and solace. I have immense love and gratitude for being able to combine my love of nature with helping others, and can’t wait to share in the experience!

“The greatest thing you can do for another being is to provide the unconditional love that comes from making contact with that place in them that is beyond conditions, which is just pure consciousness, pure essence. That is, once we acknowledge each other as existing, just being here, just being, then each of us is free to change optimally. If I can just love you because here we are, then you are free to grow as you need to grow.”
